Sustainability Director

Paulig Group sustainability work is based on our heritage and strong values and sustainability is embedded in our business strategy. Our sustainability foundation includes our ethical principles, sustainability focus areas and main programs.
 We are now looking for a Sustainability Director to drive and develop the work further according to our strategy. The position is based at our head-quarters in Helsinki.

The overall goal of this role is to take our sustainability work to the next level. This is why we value a strong substance knowledge of corporate sustainability work and earlier experience of such a journey. In this position you will lead the development and the implementation of sustainability initiatives on Paulig Group level.
 Other expectations are that you:

  • set the long-term strategy and goals on the group level
  • lead sustainability related topics and to drive sustainability topics on the internal agenda 
  • have strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead an international team and to build networks
  • represent Paulig Group externally in sustainability topics
  • handle sustainability related topics in media 
  • clarify the governance of the work  
  • are responsible for the Paulig Group sustainability report content

 To succeed in this role, you must have the ability to lead an international team and collaborate broadly across our functions and business areas. Your goal is to establish Paulig as “sustainability thought leader” in a few but important areas. Prior experience in FMCG-industry is an asset in this role. If you, on top of this, have the ability to inspire and train others on this topic you might be the person we are looking for.
As the Sustainability Director you will report to SVP, Communications & Sustainability. The sustainability function’s members will report to you. You will also be a member in the group level sustainability management team led by the SVP, Communications & Sustainability.

We hope that you:

  • possess a University degree in sustainability or other relevant area 
  • a minimum of 5 years leading sustainability work 
  • have experience of leading a team and build collaboration with the different functions
  • have extensive knowledge of business acumen and drivers of sustainability
  • are a good communicator who is able to inspire people as well as handle difficult topics 
  • are fluent in Finnish and English – other language skills are an advantage
